Be Kind Rewind

ComedyDrama102 min

After Jerry accidentally becomes magnetized and wipes out every VHS in a neighborhood video store, he and clerk Mike scramble to keep the place running by remaking the missing movies themselves. Jack Black is Jerry, the walking disaster at the center of the scheme, while Yasiin Bey’s Mike tries to protect the shop his boss has left in his care. What starts as a stopgap for one loyal customer grows into homemade versions of familiar titles, shot with cardboard props, borrowed locations, and whoever in the neighborhood is willing to help. Danny Glover and Mia Farrow round out the store’s small, eccentric orbit.
