The Boy and the Beast
ActionAdventureAnimationAnimeDramaFamilyFantasy119 min
After running away in Shibuya, orphaned Kyuta wanders into Jutengai, a hidden world of beasts, where a solitary fighter named Kumatetsu takes him on as an unlikely disciple. Mamoru Hosoda’s fantasy follows the pair through bruising training, constant bickering, and the gradual shape of a father-son bond between a homeless boy and a stubborn master. With voices from Koji Yakusho and Aoi Miyazaki, the story moves between modern Tokyo and the beast realm as Kyuta grows up caught between two worlds.
