The Andromeda Strain

MysterySci-FiThriller131 min

After a satellite crashes near Piedmont, New Mexico, nearly everyone in town is found dead, and the U.S. scrambles to contain whatever came back to Earth with it. Arthur Hill is Dr. Jeremy Stone, the scientist leading an emergency team into a sealed underground lab, with James Olson and Kate Reid among the specialists racing to identify the organism before it escapes containment. As the group studies the strange microbe, one question hangs over the investigation: why did only two people survive in Piedmont, an elderly man and a six-month-old baby, while the lab’s built-in nuclear fail-safe waits in the background.
