ComedyDramaRomance114 min

In the early days of pro football, George Clooney's Dodge Connelly is the captain of a struggling team looking for one big attraction to keep the whole operation alive. His answer is Carter Rutherford, a decorated war hero and college standout; John Krasinski is the golden-boy recruit whose arrival turns the squad into a sensation. But the hype starts to wobble when a newspaper reporter (Renée Zellweger) begins digging into Carter's past. As her investigation gains traction, the team's comeback effort turns into a rivalry built on headlines, money, and competing versions of the same story.
