The Skeleton Key

DramaHorrorMysteryThriller104 min

Hospice nurse Caroline Ellis takes a job at an old plantation house outside New Orleans and soon finds that the home’s locked rooms and whispered history matter as much as her patient’s care. Kate Hudson is Caroline, hired to look after a stroke-stricken man in a decaying Louisiana mansion where every hallway seems to point toward some buried ritual or secret. With Gena Rowlands as the lady of the house and Peter Sarsgaard hovering close by, the story folds Hoodoo, attic shadows, and Southern Gothic unease into Caroline’s search for what happened there before she arrived.
