My Life as a Dog
ComedyDrama102 min
In 1959 Sweden, 12-year-old Ingemar is sent from his working-class home to live with his aunt and uncle while his mother is ill, and he meets the upheaval by measuring his troubles against people he thinks have it worse. Anton Glanzelius is Ingemar, a bright, restless kid trying to make sense of separation, embarrassment, and the strange routines of village life. Around him, Lasse Hallström fills the countryside with eccentric neighbors, small rituals, and moments of humor that sit beside the boy’s loneliness, with Tomas von Brömssen and Melinda Kinnaman among the faces shaping his new world.
