Les Misérables

DramaMusicalRomance158 min

In early 19th-century France, ex-convict Jean Valjean breaks parole and spends years building a new life while staying one step ahead of the inspector determined to drag him back. Hugh Jackman is Valjean, a man whose act of mercy draws him into the lives of Fantine (Anne Hathaway), her young daughter Cosette, and the students gathering at the Paris barricades. Russell Crowe’s Javert keeps the pursuit alive as the story moves from prison yards and factory floors to crowded streets, taverns, and the uprising closing in around them.
