Underdog
ActionAdventureComedyFamilyFantasySci-Fi84 min
After a lab accident gives a beagle named Shoeshine superpowers and the ability to talk, he becomes the caped, flying protector of Capital City. Jason Lee is the voice behind Shoeshine’s superhero alter ego, a secret known only to the young boy who adopts him and becomes his closest ally. Peter Dinklage’s Dr. Simon Barsinister runs the mysterious lab that started it all, pushing the story toward comic-book villainy as Shoeshine learns how to use his new abilities. The film keeps one paw in kid-friendly pet comedy and the other in a bright, simple superhero story.
