At an elite South Carolina prep school, star basketball player Odin James seems to have everything: campus fame, his coach’s favor, and a romance with the dean’s daughter, Desi. Mekhi Phifer is Odin, the only Black student at Palmetto Grove Academy, whose place at the center of school life makes him a target for Josh Hartnett’s Hugo, the coach’s resentful son. As Hugo feeds him rumors and doubt, friendship curdles into jealousy, and the school’s courts, hallways, and parties become the stage for a modern high-school reworking of Othello. Martin Sheen appears as the coach whose approval sits at the center of the conflict.
