Brief Encounter

Drama90 min

A chance meeting in a railway station pulls two married strangers into an affair they never meant to begin. Sophia Loren is Anna, whose casual conversations with Dr. Alec Harvey grow into something harder to contain; Richard Burton gives Alec a mix of restlessness and insistence that keeps pressing against the boundaries of both their marriages. The story stays close to furtive meetings, interrupted plans, and the strain of keeping private longing separate from ordinary domestic life.
