Elizabeth: The Golden Age

DramaRomanceWar114 min

Queen Elizabeth I faces pressure on every front as conspiracies gather at court and Spain readies its armada against 16th-century England. Cate Blanchett is the monarch at the center, guarding her throne while weighing the demands of rule against a growing attachment to Clive Owen's Sir Walter Raleigh, the seafarer who catches her eye. At her side, Geoffrey Rush's adviser Walsingham works to uncover a plot that reaches into Elizabeth's own family circle, as religion, succession, and war turn the Tudor court into a struggle for England's future.
