Superman
ActionAdventureSci-Fi144 min
Mild-mannered reporter Clark Kent hides an alien origin and extraordinary powers behind thick glasses at the Daily Planet, where his connection with Lois Lane is interrupted when Lex Luthor puts Metropolis in danger. Christopher Reeve is Clark, moving between shy newsroom awkwardness and his public life as Superman, while Margot Kidder’s Lois brings a fast-talking edge to the romance. Gene Hackman gives Luthor a smug, theatrical streak, and Richard Donner frames the story as a straight-faced origin tale that stretches from Krypton and Smallville to the city skyline.
