After World War II, Justice Robert H. Jackson heads the Allied effort to prosecute 21 Nazi officials at the Nuremberg trials. Alec Baldwin is Jackson, assembling a case that has to translate mass atrocity into charges, evidence, and testimony under international scrutiny. Across the courtroom sits Hermann Göring (Brian Cox), one of the most prominent defendants, whose presence sharpens the clash between legal procedure and political theater. In postwar Germany, the proceedings unfold alongside the larger task of documenting what the regime did and establishing how those crimes can be judged in court.
