Ladder 49

ActionAdventureDramaThriller115 min

Trapped inside a Baltimore blaze, firefighter Jack Morrison looks back on the years that brought him to Ladder 49 and the family life the job has steadily strained. Joaquin Phoenix is Jack, who enters the station as a probie under John Travolta’s Captain Mike Kennedy and grows into a seasoned veteran shaped by dangerous calls, station-house rituals, and close bonds with his crew. As Kennedy coordinates the effort to reach him, the film moves between the rescue at hand and the sacrifices Jack’s work has demanded at home with his wife and children.
