Denver & Rio Grande

DramaWestern89 min

As the Denver & Rio Grande pushes through Colorado’s mountain passes in 1870, railroad man Jim Vesser leads a crew racing to lay track before a rival outfit can seize the route and the money behind it. Edmond O’Brien is Vesser, caught between the brutal work of forcing a rail line through the Rockies and a sabotage campaign from less scrupulous builders determined to stop him. Sterling Hayden and Dean Jagger are part of a story that turns railroad construction into a frontier power struggle, with blasting crews, fistfights, gunfire, and competing claims over who will drive the line through first.
