Victor/Victoria

ComedyRomance134 min

In 1930s Paris, an out-of-work soprano reinvents herself as “Count Victor,” a man whose act is performing as a glamorous woman on the cabaret stage. Julie Andrews is Victoria, navigating sudden success and an increasingly tangled double life, while Robert Preston’s Toddy helps build the illusion. Trouble follows when an American nightclub operator, played by James Garner, is drawn to her and correctly senses there’s more to the act than anyone else realizes. Lesley Ann Warren adds another complication as the jealous girlfriend determined to expose the charade.
