Malaal
ActionAdventureDramaRomance153 min
Shiva is a hotheaded young man in a Mumbai chawl whose routine is upended when Aastha’s family moves in next door. Meezaan Jafri is Shiva, restless and rowdy; opposite him, Sharmin Segal’s Aastha comes from a very different world, and their attraction quickly turns the cramped neighborhood into the center of an uneasy romance. As the two grow closer, Malaal keeps its focus on class, family pressure, and the daily life of the colony around them, with the city and the chawl shaping nearly every encounter.
