Princess Aurora grows up hidden in the forest after the evil fairy Maleficent curses her as a baby, setting her fate on a collision course with her 16th birthday. Mary Costa is Aurora, raised as Briar Rose by three good fairies who live as peasant women to keep her out of Maleficent’s reach. Eleanor Audley’s Maleficent watches from the shadows for a way to complete the curse, while Aurora’s meeting with Prince Phillip draws the sheltered princess back toward the kingdom, the castle, and the life she was born into.
