Marcel the Shell with Shoes On

AnimationComedyDramaFamilyFantasy90 min

Marcel is a one-inch-tall shell living in an Airbnb with his grandmother Connie and their pet lint, Alan, after the rest of their shell community disappeared. Jenny Slate gives Marcel a small, observant voice, and Isabella Rossellini's Connie meets the everyday problem-solving of shell life with calm authority. When a filmmaker discovers them among the clutter and posts a short about Marcel online, sudden attention from strangers opens a possible path toward the family he lost — and brings new risks into the home they’ve been managing on their own. The film frames its story as a mock documentary, blending live action with stop-motion detail.
