The Lost Tomb of Alexander the Great

Documentary44 min

Archaeologist Pepi Papakosta (Calliope Limneos-Papakosta) digs beneath the streets of central Alexandria, Egypt, searching for the long-lost tomb of Alexander the Great. In the city Alexander founded more than 2,300 years ago, her excavation turns up a rare marble statue linked to the ruler, along with Greek artifacts and hidden tunnels below the modern city. As the search narrows, the film follows Papakosta through the practical work of the dig and the historical clues pointing toward one of antiquity’s most sought-after burial sites, building toward an unexpected find.
