Down with Love

ComedyRomance101 min

In early-1960s New York, a bestselling author shakes up the city with a manifesto that argues women do not need love to build the lives they want. Her book turns her into a celebrity and a threat to the men who profit from old expectations. A charming magazine writer decides to expose her as a fraud by making her fall for him, but the stunt pulls both of them into a fast-moving battle of disguises, seductions, and public image. As their rivalry grows, the setup becomes harder to control, and each new scheme raises the stakes. Renée Zellweger and Ewan McGregor lead a glossy send-up of the era’s sex comedies.
