In the last Ice Age, a young hunter is separated from his tribe after a bison hunt goes wrong and must cross snowbound wilderness to make it home. Kodi Smit-McPhee is Keda, inexperienced, injured, and suddenly on his own, while Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson is the father he’s trying to return to. As he faces cold, hunger, and predators, Keda’s path changes when he spares a wounded wolf and the two begin to travel together. The film keeps its focus on survival, the bond between boy and animal, and a prehistoric world of cliffs, forests, and open plains.
