Under the Skin
DramaHorrorMysterySci-FiThriller108 min
An enigmatic woman cruises Glasgow in a van, picking up solitary men who don’t realize they’re being hunted. Scarlett Johansson is the stranger, outwardly seductive and nearly unreadable, moving through shopping centers, back roads, and anonymous flats with very little dialogue. The men she encounters, including Jeremy McWilliams, register as ordinary passersby, which makes each interaction feel more unsettling as her intentions come into focus. Working from a simple pattern of seduction and pursuit, the film keeps its world grounded in everyday Scotland while hinting that something alien is moving just beneath the surface.
