In Paris, two movie-drunk drifters spend their days borrowing poses from Hollywood gangsters until a flirtation with Odile turns into a plan to rob her family home. Sami Frey’s Franz and Claude Brasseur’s Arthur circle the same young woman, while Anna Karina is Odile, caught between them and drawn into their make-believe outlaw life. Jean-Luc Godard folds café dances, a dash through the Louvre, and deadpan crime plotting into a French New Wave spin on the gangster picture, where romance, imitation, and amateur bravado keep slipping into one another.
