Lessons in Chemistry

Drama46 min per episode

In 1950s America, Brie Larson is Elizabeth Zott, a chemist whose ambitions keep running up against a culture that insists women belong in the domestic sphere. When she takes a job on a TV cooking show, Elizabeth uses the platform for more than recipes, speaking directly to a national audience of housewives who are being underestimated in much the same way she is. Lewis Pullman and Aja Naomi King co-star as Elizabeth’s life expands beyond the lab and into a very public role, with the series balancing workplace barriers, home life, and the strange reach of early television.
