Gandhi

Drama191 min

In the early 20th century, Mohandas K. Gandhi is a British-trained lawyer who gives up a conventional life to join India’s struggle against colonial rule. Ben Kingsley’s Gandhi emerges as a movement leader, answering repression with marches, civil disobedience, and hunger strikes instead of armed revolt. Richard Attenborough stages the story on the scale of the independence movement, with Roshan Seth and Candice Bergen among the large supporting cast around Gandhi as his campaign draws national and international attention.
