DramaRomanceWar108 min
Rachael Morgan arrives in the ruins of Hamburg in 1946 to reunite with her husband, only to learn their new home will be shared with its former owner, a German widower, and his daughter. Keira Knightley is Rachael, still carrying the strain of the war, while Jason Clarke’s Lewis is a British colonel overseeing the city’s reconstruction. Under Lewis’s unusual arrangement, the house becomes a tense meeting point between occupier and occupied, with the widower (Alexander Skarsgård) forced into daily proximity with the couple now living under his roof.
