Gentleman Jack
DramaRomance59 min per episode
In 1830s Yorkshire, landowner Anne Lister returns to Halifax determined to rebuild her struggling estate, reopen its coal pits, and live on her own terms in a society that polices every step she takes. As she pushes into business deals and local politics, she begins a relationship with the wealthy but fragile Ann Walker, a bond that quickly becomes both intimate and risky. Gossip spreads, family members interfere, and every choice Anne makes threatens scandal as much as independence. Suranne Jones and Sophie Rundle lead a story drawn from Lister’s diaries, where money, status, and desire are tangled together in daily battles over property, reputation, and the right to shape a life openly.
