In the late 1990s, rising MMA fighter Mark Kerr is chasing a place at the top of the sport while struggling to keep control of his life outside competition. Dwayne Johnson is Kerr, a bruising athlete whose ascent is shadowed by opioid dependence and mounting pressure. Emily Blunt’s Dawn is at the center of his volatile relationship, as success in the ring collides with instability at home. The film follows Kerr at the point where ambition, fame, and the punishment of fighting begin to press against the rest of his life.
