Seven years after her husband vanished, pregnant Tricia is being pushed to have him declared dead just as her younger sister moves in to help her start over. Courtney Bell is Tricia, still holding on to the possibility that he could return, while Catherine Parker's Callie becomes fixated on an ominous tunnel near the house. As legal closure gives way to strange sightings and other disappearances in the area, the sisters' already strained relationship is pulled into something increasingly difficult to explain. Mike Flanagan's feature debut builds its unease out of grief, domestic tension, and a familiar underpass that starts to feel dangerous.
