Manchester by the Sea
Drama138 min
After his older brother dies, Boston janitor Lee Chandler has to return to the Massachusetts fishing town he left behind and take custody of his 16-year-old nephew. Casey Affleck is Lee, handling funeral arrangements and family obligations while old wounds surface around every familiar street and harbor. Lucas Hedges' Patrick is still caught up in school, hockey, friends, and the routines of being a teenager, even as his life is abruptly rearranged. Michelle Williams appears as Lee's ex-wife, Randi, part of the past waiting for him in Manchester. Kenneth Lonergan's film moves between the present and the history that fractured this family.
