Sul Kyung-gu is Seo Chang-dae, a gifted campaign strategist working behind the scenes during South Korea’s 1970 presidential primary. When ideological differences open a rift between Seo and the candidate he serves, a lucrative offer from another camp puts his ambitions and loyalties under pressure. Lee Sun-kyun is the politician at the center of Seo’s ascent, as the story moves through strategy meetings, public messaging, and the private bargaining that shapes a national race. Drawn from real events, the film follows the machinery of politics from the operatives’ side, where influence often matters as much as the candidate on stage.
