John Carter
ActionAdventureSci-Fi132 min
Taylor Kitsch is John Carter, a war-weary former Civil War captain who is suddenly transported to Barsoom, a Mars divided by warring kingdoms and edging toward collapse. Far from Earth, Carter discovers he has unusual physical power on the planet and is pulled into a conflict that could determine its survival. Lynn Collins appears among Barsoom’s royal ranks, while Willem Dafoe is part of the film’s alien world of towering Martian inhabitants. Across desert landscapes, airships, and battlefield alliances, the story mixes interplanetary adventure with pulp fantasy and a steampunk-leaning vision of Mars.
