The Imposter

CrimeDocumentaryDramaMysteryThriller99 min

After a 13-year-old from San Antonio disappears in 1994 and resurfaces three and a half years later in southern Spain, his return raises questions almost immediately. Nicholas Barclay is the missing boy at the center of the case, while Frédéric Bourdin's testimony drives the film's version of what happened next. Interviews with Barclay family members, including Carey Gibson and Beverly Dollarhide, sit beside archive TV footage and stylized reenactments, moving between Texas and Spain as the story tracks a vanished child, a new identity, and the uneasy gaps between what people say they saw and what may have been there all along.
