Ram, a photographer who spends his life traveling across India, returns to his hometown of Tanjavur and finds himself pulled back to 1994, when he was a quiet schoolboy carrying unspoken feelings for his classmate Janu. Vijay Sethupathi is the older Ram, and Trisha Krishnan's Jaanu comes back into his orbit when a reunion of their 1996 batch brings former classmates together after two decades. The film moves between that present-day meeting and their school days, with Gouri G. Kishan and Aadithya Bhaskar appearing as the younger Janu and Ram.
