Ordinary people in different corners of the world begin to discover impossible abilities: a nurse can heal, an artist paints the future, a Japanese office worker bends time and space, and others find they can fly, hear thoughts, or vanish. At first, each person is dealing with the shock in private, trying to understand what these powers mean for work, family, and survival. Then the visions and coincidences start to connect. As a catastrophic future comes into view, strangers are pulled into the same widening crisis and have to find one another before fear, secrecy, and a ruthless killer turn their gifts into a disaster. Hiro and Claire are only two of the people caught in that collision.
