The Forbidden Dance

DramaRomance97 min

An Amazon princess travels to Los Angeles to confront the conglomerate threatening her rainforest home, only to find that getting heard in America may require a very different stage. Laura Harring is the young woman at the center of the story, and Jeff James’s wealthy local counterpart steers her toward television and a lambada dance contest as the quickest way to attract attention. Romance and culture-clash beats run alongside the film’s environmental plot, folding the lambada craze into a fish-out-of-water story about protest, media, and visibility.
