Tampopo

Comedy115 min

A struggling ramen shop owner named Tampopo meets a truck driver who knows a good bowl when he tastes one, and together they set out to turn her little restaurant into a place people seek out. As he coaches her on broth, noodles, and the rituals of serving, the kitchen becomes a training ground full of rival shops, exacting customers, and hard-won lessons about what makes a meal worth remembering. Around their quest, the film keeps cutting to comic side stories about appetite, manners, and obsession, building a playful portrait of food as competition, seduction, and everyday drama. Nobuko Miyamoto and Tsutomu Yamazaki lead the central story.
