Elvis

DramaMusical163 min

Austin Butler is Elvis Presley, tracing the singer’s rise from a 1950s rock ’n’ roll breakout to worldwide fame through the uneasy bond that shapes his career. Tom Hanks’s Colonel Tom Parker looms over the story as Elvis’s manager, business partner, and chief narrator, while Olivia DeJonge’s Priscilla becomes a key figure in his private life. Rather than covering the legend from a distance, the film keeps returning to the bargain between performer and handler, with Baz Luhrmann staging the music, celebrity, and cultural change around them in a heightened, fast-moving style.
