After her father is convicted as a Nazi collaborator, Alicia Huberman is recruited by U.S. agent T.R. Devlin to get close to a ring of Nazis in Rio de Janeiro. Ingrid Bergman’s Alicia and Cary Grant’s Devlin fall for each other just as her assignment requires her to draw near Alexander Sebastian (Claude Rains), one of the men she’s meant to expose. When Sebastian’s interest starts turning serious, the operation tightens into a dangerous triangle of espionage, suspicion, and conflicted loyalty.
