Las Vegas magician Cris Johnson can see a few minutes into the future, a secret that keeps him hidden behind an alias and afloat on carefully timed gambling wins. Nicolas Cage is Cris, still wary of the government scrutiny that marked his childhood, until a terrorist threat forces him into the open. With Los Angeles facing a possible nuclear attack, Julianne Moore's FBI agent Callie Ferris races to find him and persuade him to help. What follows turns Cris's near-future visions into a cat-and-mouse chase through casinos, safe houses, and federal dragnet territory.
