Shah Rukh Khan is a successful Indian scientist at NASA who returns to his village intending to bring the nanny who raised him back to America, only to find himself drawn into the lives and problems he once left behind. As he reconnects with rural India, the visit shifts from a personal errand into a reckoning with home, responsibility, and belonging. Gayatri Joshi and Kishori Ballal are central to the world waiting for him there, as the film moves between village life, family ties, and the pull of a very different future abroad, with songs woven through the drama.
