Jet Li is Wong Fei-hung, a martial arts master and folk hero who accidentally opens a new school beside a brothel and soon stumbles into a kidnapping scheme. This 1993 Hong Kong take on the legendary character shifts toward comedy, mixing brawls and period adventure with broad slapstick as Fei-hung tries to keep order in an increasingly unruly neighborhood. Dicky Cheung is part of the swirl around him, alongside a crowded ensemble of hustlers, fighters, and troublemakers. The result keeps the outline of the Wong Fei-hung myth while nudging it into parody.
