A respected documentarian finds a novel on her bedside table and realizes it tells a buried chapter of her own life. As Catherine Ravenscroft tries to trace who sent it, the book starts pulling her private past into the open and threatening the image she has built around herself. An elderly widower seems determined to force that reckoning, turning her fear into a campaign of exposure that reaches into her family and work. Cate Blanchett plays Catherine as she scrambles to contain the damage while old choices return in fragments, and each new revelation raises the question of whose version of the story can be trusted.
