The Grudge

HorrorMysteryThriller92 min

An American nurse living in Tokyo becomes entangled with a supernatural curse that traps its victims in violent rage before passing to the next person. Sarah Michelle Gellar is at the center as the caregiver drawn into a string of deaths and disappearances, while Bill Pullman and Clea DuVall appear in intersecting threads tied to the same spreading force. Directed by Takashi Shimizu, who remade his own Japanese film, the story moves through Tokyo homes and apartments in a nonlinear pattern, tracing how one encounter with the curse bleeds into the next.
