Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

DramaRomanceSci-Fi108 min

After learning that his ex has had him erased from her memory, Jim Carrey’s Joel Barish signs up for the same procedure. As Clementine (Kate Winslet) disappears from his mind, the story moves backward through their relationship, jumping from the breakup to first meetings, private rituals, and small fights Joel suddenly wants to keep. Michel Gondry and writer Charlie Kaufman build the film around a nonlinear drift between memory and the present, where apartments collapse, faces blur, and a failed relationship becomes harder to let go of the closer Joel gets to losing it.
