The President's Wife
ComedyDrama92 min
At the Élysée Palace in 1995, Bernadette Chirac expects a place at the center of French political life after years spent helping her husband reach the presidency. Instead, she’s dismissed as old-fashioned and pushed aside, prompting a calculated effort to reshape her public image. Catherine Deneuve is Bernadette, mixing wounded pride with sharp political instinct, while Michel Vuillermoz’s Jacques Chirac looms as the newly elected president whose ascent she helped engineer. Drawn from true events, the film follows her shift from overlooked first lady to a media figure determined to claim the visibility she was denied.
