Playdate
ActionAdventureComedyFamily95 min
Recently unemployed accountant Brian heads to a playdate with his son expecting small talk and football tossing, not a running battle with mercenaries. Kevin James is Brian, a suburban dad with no tactical instincts, while Alan Ritchson’s Jeff — the charismatic stay-at-home father joining him with his own son — seems oddly prepared for the chaos. As the afternoon swerves from playground logistics and minivans into evasive maneuvers and gunfire, the story keeps its focus on two fathers trying to protect their kids, with Brian stumbling through one absurd obstacle after another as he tries to figure out what he’s been dragged into.
