Dick Tracy

ActionAdventureComedyCrimeRomanceThriller105 min

Detective Dick Tracy is trying to break a newly united mob when Breathless Mahoney’s attention and Big Boy Caprice’s rise start crowding his personal and professional life at once. Warren Beatty’s square-jawed Tracy moves through a comic-strip city of gangsters, nightclubs, and blunt-force justice, with Al Pacino looming over the underworld as Big Boy. Madonna is Breathless, the nightclub singer whose flirtation complicates Tracy’s bond with Tess Trueheart (Glenne Headly), while a street kid begins trailing the detective through the case. Adapted from Chester Gould’s strip, the film leans into bold colors, exaggerated crooks, and old-school pulp crime.
