Nearly a century after a nuclear apocalypse, the last survivors of humanity live on a failing space habitat called the Ark. To find out whether Earth can be inhabited again, the adults send down 100 juvenile prisoners, who land in a world that is green, dangerous, and far from empty. Cut off from the Ark, the teens have to build rules, find food and shelter, and decide who gets to lead when fear and rivalry start to take over. As Clarke, played by Eliza Taylor, and Bellamy, played by Bob Morley, pull others in different directions, the group discovers that surviving the ground means facing enemies, secrets, and choices the Ark can no longer control.
